The history of the Hotel is glorious, and its foundations can be traced back
to the middle of the 16th century, when the
area of Via Margutta was constructed.
In the beginning of the 18th century, the Teatro Alibert was built. The structure
then passed into the hands of the Order of Malta that call it Teatro delle Dame.
"
…It is communicated that for the first time women can perform in the theatre.
When Napoleon Bonaparte arrived in the city, the entire area was destined to private
residential use."
"60 Years": A Long Tradition of Hospitality at the Spanish Steps
The building was transformed into a hotel, the Hotel Manfredi, in 1949, and from
that moment its tradition of hospitality has been continued under the ownership
of Ines Manfredi, and from 1980, under the intelligent managing of Cosimo and
Maria Argentina. Now, the hotel is under the innovative control of the Argentina
brothers: Giovanni, Francesco and Giuseppe.
In December 2008 the hotel was restored, thanks to the creativity of Giovanni
Argentina.
