The Hotel Manfredi is situated inside the ex Teatro Alibert, built between 1716
and 1718 at the behest of Antonio d'Alibert, son of James d'Alibert that he had
already built the theater Tordinona. He did not have a real facade but three entrances,
one of which is on Via Margutta. The theater was not very popular to the point
that the management was taken over in 1726 in the hands of the Order of Malta,
which gave the name of the theater Dame. There were represented circuses, melodramas,
comedies and tragedies. The news spread that recited in the theater for the first
time women. In 1863 it was destroyed by fire.
